Latest News4/7/03- The Italian Job trailer is now in theaters attached to Vin Diesel's A Man Apart and the official Italian Job website is up and running (to a limited extent, you can register for updates, view the trailer, and take a look at the cast of characters) [Thanks to Justin and Patrik for the info!] 4/3/03- The first glimpse of EN in The Italian Job (look above) is a screenshot from the trailer (which unfortunately is not yet online) posted by The Trades Trailer News [Thanks to Alex of The Trades Trailer News for the pic!] 3/28/03- Tonight's (Friday) Entertainment Tonight will feature a look behind-the-scenes on The Italian Job. ET Online has also posted an article on the segment: Charlize Speaks 'Italian' 1/20/03- Empire Movies has posted the first two pictures from the film, unfortunately neither of them include EN. 12/22/02- Monday's L.A. Times has an article on options and how Paramount forced EN into the Italian Job - The Power Option 12/20/02- Today's Hollywood Reporter has an article on some controversy caused by the Italian Job filming in Venice Venice residents not amused by 'Italian Job' canal stunts 9/29/02- Entertainment Tonight has posted an article on the film Italian job feature [Thanks to Joanne for the article!] 9/26/02- The New York Observer reports that EN agreed to due the role in The Italian Job to avoid being sued by Paramount Pictures. His Primal Fear contract (which was his film debut) stipulated that he would do 2 additional pictures for the studio. Ed Norton to Lansing: Burn This! [Thanks to Jay for the article!]. 7/2/02- Today's Hollywood Reporter states that Donald Sutherland is "in negotiations" and Seth Green is "set" for roles in the film. Sutherland would portray Croker's mentor and the father of Stella (Theron) while Green will take the role of "computer whiz" Kyle, another member of Croker's guys. 6/20/02- The Hollywood Reporter states that Franky G. and Mos Def are joining the picture as members of Croker's crew. "Franky G.'s role, that of a mechanic, is being written for him because the actor so impressed the producer and studio during his audition. Mos Def will star as Half Ear, a robber with a Southern accent and a hearing aid." 6/14/02- Variety reports that Jason Statham will play Smiling Rob, one of Croker's guys Norton joins up with heist 'Job' for Par, GrayHollywood Reporter, June 11, 2002Edward Norton will star opposite Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron in Paramount Pictures' "The Italian Job" for director F. Gary Gray and studio-based DeLine Pictures. A late July or early August start is being planned. The project reunites Norton with Paramount, for whom he made his acting debut in "Primal Fear" and later starred in "The Score." The studio was said to have had an option on Norton and chose to exercise it on "Job." Scripted by Donna and Wayne Powers, "Job" is a remake of the 1969 Paramount release of the same name starring Michael Caine and Benny Hill. The new version, a reinvention of the action-oriented heist movie, will be set in Italy and Los Angeles. It stars Wahlberg as Charlie, head of a robbery crew who stages a traffic jam in order to steal back a safe filled with gold that previously had been stolen by a double-crossing associate (Norton). Theron plays Charlie's love interest (HR/30). Norton, repped by Endeavor, is currently shooting Disney's "The 25th Hour" for director Spike Lee.
