Blackout Script ReadingHollywood ReporterHR E-MAIL, December 05, 1996We shed some light on 'Blackout' script reading With celebrity readings of soon-to-be major motion pictures increasingly in vogue, the latest such get-together bodes well for Miramax's most recent purchase, "Blackout." With Miramax co-chairman Harvey Weinstein and Tribeca's Jane Rosenthal presiding over the gathering, such name actors as Robert De Niro, Kelly Preston, Treat Williams, Billy Crudup, Edward Norton and Monica Potter were shut up Wednesday at New York's Tribeca Film Center to read the latest script from "Last Seduction" director John Dahl and his brother Rick. The script, which had been in development at Phoenix Pictures, is about a dangerous criminal who escapes from prison but then gets a bad case of amnesia. While on the outside, he falls for a woman and her child and begins to lead a normal life -- for a while. Though Tribeca and the actors are not formally attached, all are said to be "interested." The Dahls are waiting to see if De Niro will commit.
